About Brickbox

Who is Brickbox?

Brickbox is a New Zealand LEGO® reseller run by collectors. We specialise in retired and hard-to-find sets — new & sealed, pre-owned, CMF minifigures, and standalone minifigs — with honest condition grading.

Are you affiliated with the LEGO Group?

No. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorise, or endorse this site. We are an independent NZ retailer.

Is everything you sell genuine LEGO®?

Yes. We only sell authentic LEGO® products. Sealed sets are factory sealed; pre-owned sets are inspected before listing.

Products & condition

What's the difference between New & Sealed and Pre-Owned?

New & Sealed sets are factory sealed — contents untouched. We grade the packaging (Minimal, Moderate, or Significant wear) so you know what the box looks like before you buy.

Pre-Owned sets have previously been opened and built. They are dismantled, cleaned and checked, sold as pre-owned (not re-sealed), and priced to reflect condition. Packaging condition grades do not apply to pre-owned listings.

What do your packaging condition grades mean?

We use three grades for sealed sets: Minimal Wear (clean retail condition), Moderate Wear (visible creases, scuffs, or retailer stickers), and Significant Wear (notable damage). For sealed items the contents stay factory sealed at every grade. Collectible Minifigures are handled differently — because you can't reliably identify a figure in a sealed blind bag, we open every new CMF purely to confirm it, then repackage it new & complete in a resealable ziplock bag; each product's Condition tab spells out exactly what you'll receive.

See our full packaging condition guide for photos and examples.

Can I see photos of the actual box I'll receive?

For Moderate and Significant Wear items, we include condition photos on the product page — real photos of that specific box, not stock images.

For Minimal Wear items we use standard product photography. Want extra shots before you commit? Get in touch with the product link and we'll send them.

Are pre-owned sets complete?

We inspect pre-owned sets before listing and describe what's included on the product page. If completeness matters for a specific set, check the listing details or ask us before ordering.

Why does the same set sometimes have multiple prices?

On sealed sets, each packaging grade is a separate variant — better box condition usually means a higher price. Where multiple grades are in stock, you'll see them on the product page.

Ordering & payment

Are prices inclusive of GST?

Yes. All prices on brickbox.nz include New Zealand GST. What you see at checkout is what you pay (plus shipping if applicable).

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the payment methods shown at Shopify checkout — typically card, Shop Pay, and other options Shopify makes available for NZ orders.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If you need to change or cancel, contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Once an order has been packed or dispatched we may not be able to change it, but we'll always try to help.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

We ship within New Zealand. If you're outside NZ and wondering whether we can help, send us a message — we'll let you know honestly.

How much does shipping cost?

Tracked shipping is based on your order total after discounts and your island. North Island from $7.99, South Island from $9.99 on orders under $199. Maximum 25 kg per parcel. Free tracked shipping on NZ orders over $199 is a limited-time offer — see promotional terms.

Full details are in our shipping policy and promotional terms.

How long will my order take?

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–2 business days. Delivery time depends on your location and the courier service — typically a few business days within NZ once shipped.

You'll receive tracking by email when your parcel is on its way.

How are LEGO® boxes packed?

We pack carefully — boxes matter to collectors. Sets are protected for transit so they arrive in the condition shown on the listing.

Returns & issues

Can I return a sealed set?

We don’t offer change-of-mind returns. If a sealed set arrives damaged or isn’t as described on the listing, reply to your order confirmation or shipping email with photos — we’ll sort it out.

See our refund policy for timeframes and how to start a return.

Can I return a pre-owned set?

Pre-owned, opened, and used items aren’t eligible for change-of-mind returns. Condition is described and photographed on the listing so you can buy with confidence.

If something arrives significantly different from what was described, reply to your order confirmation or shipping email with photos. We’ll sort it out.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Reply to your order confirmation or shipping email with photos of the packaging and product. For transit damage we'll make it right — replacement or refund depending on what's available.

What if something is missing from my order?

If a product is missing from the parcel, reply to your order confirmation or shipping email with your order number and we'll investigate. Mistakes are rare, but when they happen we fix them.

What if a piece is missing from a sealed set?

It’s rare — sealed sets leave us factory sealed, so we can’t see inside the bags. If a piece is missing after you open it, that’s a LEGO® packing error. They run a replacement parts service and you can request the piece directly from them:
